1997

1997 was a succesfull year for our "dog family".

In January Kerrien Raleigh thrilled us by winning his first C.C. at the International show in Vaasa.

At another international show in Jyväskylä in February Karvin Paloma O'Blanca was BOB and Kerrien Raleigh BOS

At the next international show in Helsinki Festival's Five Five was best bitch and won her third C.C. That day she got her title Est&Fin Ch. Fiffi had already won a C.C. in Estland which gave her the Est Champion title. At the same show Fin Ch Hoyden Rolls Royce (Ch Almerak Pipers Dream ex. Hoyden Ninety-Nine) was BOB.

In March at the Golden Ring annual championship show our Kerrien boys had a super day. Best In Show was Kerrien Raleigh who also got his third C.C. (all three within three months!) Second best dog was Kerrien Paperback Writer. His daughter Karvin Karelian Glory (ex. Karvin Paloma O'Blanca) was BIS puppy. Karvin Jambalaya was second best bitch and won her third C.C.

In April Kerrien Paperback Writer was BOB and eventually got his third C.C. and became a Finnish Champion. Also in April at one of the breed club shows Karvin Vivanett got her third C.C. which gave her the Fin Ch title.

In May at the International show in Tampere Pauclare Pot of Gold was BOB. BOS was Fin Ch Karvin Lili Marleen. The bitch C.C. was won by Karvin Dance De Luxe (Amirene Tommy Boy ex. Karvin Greta Garbo), her third The dog C.C. was won by Gunhills Dancing General (Ch Sansue Golden Ruler ex. Gunhill's Darby), that was his first.

A few weeks later we showed Pauclare Pot of Gold, Kerrien Raleigh and Festival's Five Five in Sweden at two shows. It was an enjoyable trip and was crowned when Pauclare Pot of Gold won the C.C on the show in Österbybruk.

In May Gill's Garfield left to France. He was picked up by Mr Georges Azzopardi who was going to have Kelvin for some time. Since then Kelvin has been shown a few times in France, Spain and Portugal. We wish him all the luck for 1998!

In the summer months our scope was mostly on training the dogs for the qualifying test. We only entered a few shows. Karvin Karelian Glory won her first C.C. from junior class and Kerrien Paperback Writer won BOB at a few shows.

In July Karvin Jambalya thrilled us by qualifying. She now became a Finnish Champion. In August also Kerrien Raleigh qualified and got his Fin Ch title! It suddenly seemed quite worthwhile storing a heap of dead crows, seaguls and rabbits in the deepfreez er.

In August at the Golden Special Kerrien Paperback Writer had a super day winning Best In Show. Fin Ch Lovehayne Darter had BIS progeny class. His daughter Int&Fin&Est Ch Dinky Ina-Isidora (ex. Dinky Perfect Quiric) was BOS that day.

Karvin Spumante left to Austria in the summer. Verena Arminger and Elke Moos are taking care and showing Donald over there. We hope he will do well for Verena and Elke. Donald is sure enjoying all the attention he is getting!

In the autumn we got another two champions. Fin Ch Karvin Testarossa got his title after winnig all three C.C.'s within a couple of months. Karvin Bellas Garcia did a good job at obedience which gave her the title Fin Obedience Champion.

In September we sadly lost Karvin Paloma O'Blanca. She had been found to have a big tumour in her lungs which couldn't be removed. She had only had her seventh birthday recently.

In The Netherlands Almerak Pipers Dream had a good year. In the spring he gained the Luxenburg Ch title and in October eventually the VDH&Ger Champion title. Many thanks to Piet and Mieke for doing the "hard work" with Dusty. We will have Dusty back home n ext spring.

In Hungary Karvin Ursulina and Karvin Wellfavoured, both owned by Henrietta Horvath, gained their Hun Ch titles. Karvin Ursulina and Karvin Basic Instinct both became Inter Champions in 1997.

At a show in Tampere in November once again Kerrien Paperback Writer was BOB. The dog C.C. went to Pauclare Pot of Gold who stood second behind Robin in the best dog class. That C.C. gave him the Fin Ch title! BOS was Fin Ch Festivals Five Five, that was her last show before her maternal duties. The bitch C.C. went to Karvin Lady Las Vegas (Multi Ch Standfast Angus ex. Karvin Casablanca) who was only a junior.

At the last event in 1997, the International show in Helsinki, Karvin Karelian Glory won her second C.C. Glory's brother Karvin Karelian Song, who lives in Hungary, won the title World Junior Winner title in Kopenhagen, well done!
